New Year’s Doings

Not a whole lot of news since our last entry in this blog. We took a brief trip to Maryland to look in on the place there. All seems well and we got new windows as part of the building renovation project.

Jane’s friend Kathy was out for a visit. We visited some old friends of Jane’s in Phoenix; they used to teach with her in Paxton, Illinois. We had most of the inside of the house painted. And because we couldn’t find a painting to fit our niche above the fireplace, we had a local artist paint a mural in it. We had bought a 3-dimensional, or actually a relief, model of a pueblo for the space, but it needed a background. Thus the mural. But the mural is so nice, we’re undecided about putting it there.

I also took a nice hike in the Tucson mountains west of the city with our hiking club while Jane and Kathy went birding in Madera Canyon.
